Grown Up Meals for Kids / Kids Meals for Grown Ups

Two meals in one. Keep both kids and adults happy, all by making two dinners with the same set of ingredients.

It’s common knowledge. Kids don’t want grownup meals. And grownups don’t want kids’ meals… usually. We say let’s divvy up the same ingredients into two teams to make two dinners for two different generations. It’s easier this way. You’ve even saved time by getting all this with one little jaunt to the grocery store.

Let’s see what we can prepare below. Because you’re making more than two meals, you’re making a whole table of smiles.

BBQ Pulled Pork Tortilla Cups

Create fun finger food the kids will enjoy popping in their mouths. Stuff mini flour tortillas with the pulled pork, top with BBQ sauce and shredded cheese and bake. Serve up the rice and black beans, and don’t forget the carrot and celery sticks for little healthy nibbles.

Spicy Pork Carnitas Tacos

Now for the big kids (aka grownups). Stuff two flour tortillas with cumin-spiced pulled pork, and add jalapeños if you like a little extra heat. Mix up the carrots and celery with apples and jalapeños to make a slaw. Plate with black beans and chipotle rice topped with avocado mash. Voila!
